The results from 1 year of self improvement
A good formula for progress = start small + increase difficulty
Storytime
Welcome to my story, part 3 of 3.
Today, we will dive into how I started self improvement, and how you can do the same. And how to make progress with self improvement.
I want to help you personally for free. You can find more info on that in the end of this newsletter.
Alright let's get into it:
The beginning of self improvement
So I went on google. Yes, google is your friend when it comes to getting answers. Source: Trust me bro.
This led me to Hamza's and Clark Kegleys channel. I owe them both, because they saved me from a life of misery. Their channels are all about self improvement.
I applied their self improvement tips.
So I started working out, journaling, practicing gratitude and meditating. I started making routines to follow. I read books like "The Six Pillars of Self Esteem" which changed my life.
Do you also want to change your life with self improvement?
I can recommend working out, meditating and journaling. Then start small, don’t do 1 hour meditations, do 2 minutes. Increase the difficulty over time. This is how you make progress my friends.
Practicing good habits and removing bad habits was the first step to treating myself better.
I will admit, in the beginning there is some imposer syndrome: "How are people treating me so well? Do I deserve this?" But you fucking deserve to be treated with respect. Remind yourself of that.
So the good self improving habits helped me. But I was missing something.
I didn’t have a goal or a deeper purpose in life. But this all changed when I saw a video on the Youtube homepage: "Get ahead of 99% of people". It was Dan. Dan Koe himself. The goat, the legend, the creator.
He made me start my own website around January. That was a cool experience, but it didn't lead to much growth. I was also in a completely different niche than self improvement.
So I was publishing blogs and tweeting into the void. So nothing happened. This went on until the end of may.
But then I switched niche, and the purpose became clear: Help others like my past self.
Aftermath
So today, I am living a nice life.
I workout 4 times a week. Journal, practice gratitude and meditate. And I write. Every morning I write for about 20 minutes.
Since I started I have:
Reduced my shyness.
Reduced negative self talk.
Become outgoing.
Increased my self esteem.
And I will help you do the same with this newsletter.
To sum it up, the key points in me changing my life:
Removing toxic people.
Realizing I was escaping through gaming.
Starting self improvement.
Right now I am building a personal brand on twitter. If you are a creator into self improvement and resonate with the content, feel free to hit me up.
